I am 55 years old. 20 years ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes. I have a strong family history of the disease on both maternal and paternal sides. My mother died at the age of 54 from diabetes. I had witnessed many of the side effects of the disease, but had taken the view that there really was nothing I could do to prevent the progression of the disease. I didn't know of supplements. My doctors said if I ate a balanced diet there was no need to supplement.

I did not live a healthy diabetic lifestyle. My weight got up to 265 pounds. I was taking insulin shots three times a day.

I had glaucoma, some kidney damage with protein in the urine, poor circulation with numbness in the feet and fingers.
